Abstract:
Determining the financial literacy level of healthcare management graduate students who will manage or currently manage health institutions, which are one of the main actors in the field of health, which consumes a significant share of the countries' GDP and which is an indicator of the level of development will have positive impact on areas such as profitability, efficiency, continuity and increase of firm value; it was also evaluated that it will contribute to the development of the sector and to the national economy as well. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to 157 students from state and foundation universities that allowed the study to be conducted in order to determine the financial literacy level of graduate students in health management departments of universities in Istanbul. In the study, prepared by Gerek and Kurt 33-question financial literacy scale was used, and the answers showed that students' financial literacy levels were at a good level. Therefore, considering the present and future of the management of health institutions, a good level of financial literacy can be shown as a positive development for the sector.
