Abstract:
The school is a social institution where children learn after their families the necessity of social life in a wider network of social interaction. Children are prepared to live under the leadership of the members and teachers of the class they belong to in this social institution. Social cohesion for children brings with it socialization. The process of socialization depends on the acquisition of many qualifications. Within these qualifications prosocial behaviors have a separate prescription because they include features such as altruism, cooperation and empathy. It is accepted that promoting the development of prosocial behaviors from pre-school to even infancy affects the interpersonal relationships of the individual during all developmental periods. Prosocial behaviors correspond to significant interpersonal competences that support the socialization process in the primary school period for the child. Primary education is the basic instructional step towards socialization as well as the development of the child's academic skills. The school, therefore, plays an important role in the development and support of prosocial behaviors. In this context, a group guidance study based on learning by discovery was conducted in order to support the socialization process through the classroom social adaptation behaviors of primary school students. In this study, the basics of group guidance work, the techniques applied, the process of implementation and the information about the prosocial behaviors of the students in the process context are shared.
